Tech N9ne – “Klusterfuk” review

Instead of releasing a full-length album in 2012, Kansas City indie hip hop icon Tech N9ne is releasing a total of 3 EPs & he has enlisted ¡MAYDAY! to entirely produce the 1st one. The EP kicks off with the title track, which has these slow electric guitars throughout & the flow is so on point. Also while I enjoy how he talks about his youth at the very beginning of the song, the way he sings it kinda throws me off. The next song “Blur” sees Tech trying to remember what happened at a party the night before & the only part of the production I can really describe is the dubstep drop when Wrekonize’s hook comes around. The song “Can’t Stand Me”, where Tech reflects on a girl he loved but her parents despised over some organs as well as some explosive drumming. The song “Ugly Duckling” with Aqualeo talks about how underappreciated the underground is & the rap rock production on here is pretty groovy. The beat on “Awkward” isn’t the best, but the way Tech vividly recalls 3 different awkward situations that he has encountered within the past couple years definitely makes up for it. Personally, this is better than both The Lost Scripts of K.O.D. (King Of Darkness) & Seepage combined. The rhymes & execution are on point as usual, but ¡MAYDAY!’s production was what really makes it stand out to me

Score: 3.5/5
