7L & Esoteric – “Speaking Real Words” review

Although they’ve been releasing singles since the Mid-90’s, Boston based Army of the Pharaohs/Demigodz subgroup 7L & Esoteric actually come through with an EP just to warm us all up for their then up debut album The Soul Purpose. The EP is a mixture of some of their older singles such as Def Rhymes as well as a couple new tracks such as the CZARFACE prequel title track (which later appeared on The Soul Purpose) & my personal favorite, Bound to Slay. This isn’t the duo’s best work, but it’s just a small taste of what to expect from them as their boom bap production & battle rhymes throughout the EP would evolve in the following years

Score: 3.5/5
