After recently appearing as a part of the 2016 XXL Freshman Class, Atlanta rapper 21 Savage enlists arguably the most overrated producer in the game right now Metro Boomin’ for his 2nd EP. The production is decent at best & it does get interesting on No Heart or even on the Future featured X, but it’s really 21 Savage that ruins the EP. He honestly sounds like someone woke him up very early in the morning & forced him into the studio against his will to record verses for this EP. The lyrics are pretty uninspired & cliche too like on Mad High or namely the closer Opening Drive. The only track I truly enjoyed from start to finish was Real Nigga, because not only does it feature a really intriguing message & a really spacey beat but you can tell he actually tried on this track. Other than that, this is probably the most lifeless hip hop project I’ve heard in a long time

Score: 1/5
